Frequently Asked Questions

Meditation

Do I need to come every week?

No. We understand that committing to a regular class each week can be tough. Our weekly meditation class follows a similar format every week so that if you can’t make it to a class here and there – it doesn’t matter. We’d love to see you, whenever you can make it.

View Answer

What is the format of the class?

At 6.30pm, class begins with a half-hour discussion related to spiritual development.
At 7pm, we begin our World Service Meditation (and if you’re new, don’t worry it’s a guided meditation and you will be introduced to the meditation before we start).
At 7.45pm, we come out of the meditation for a short break, and tea and biscuits. The group may share experiences or ask further questions about the meditation.
At 8pm, we conduct a short group healing exercise.
At 8.30pm, we finish with big beaming smiles ☺

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. We recommend loose clothing and flat shoes (and socks if your tootsies tend to get cold). Bring something warm if the weather is cool, as we meet in our garden courtyard. Although it’s enclosed and undercover, we still recommend you rug up!

What’s the best food to eat before meditation?

We recommend eating a light meal, at least two hours before meditation. This allows the body more opportunity to come to rest during meditation.

View Answer

I might need to leave early – is that ok?

Sure it is! We know you’re busy people and some of us need more sleep than others. If you would like to head out after the meditation has finished (approx. 7.45pm) then we completely understand. We just ask that you please leave quietly in respect for the others.

View Answer

How big is the group?

It varies from week to week, sometimes 6 people and other times sixteen! On average, we are blessed to have around 10 people join us every week.

View Answer

Is this a religious group?

No. While our techniques and teachings are founded on the universal aspects of Hinduism, Christianity and Buddhism, they are not strictly limited to, or promote, one particular religion. We encourage everybody to draw on their own belief system when participating in our classes.

Energy Healing

Can I make an appointment to see Chiu Chi for a one-on-session?

Yes. You can make an appointment to see Chiu Chi by phoning our Program Coordinator on 0488 919 009 or emailing natalie@bluebody.com.au

View Answer

What should I expect from my session?

Sessions are generally 1-1.5 hours. We ask that you kindly arrive 10 mins earlier to complete some pre-appointment paperwork. During your session, Chiu Chi will begin by discussing any key issues or concerns you feel are impacting on your general feeling of wellbeing. He will then scan your energy system (chakras) before cleansing, energising and balancing your energy system, helping to give you a greater feeling of harmony and happiness. The healing method is a no-touch method and is conducted while you are seated in a chair – all you need to do is relax.

What is Pranic Healing – is it like Reiki?

Pranic Healing is a non-invasive, no-touch healing technique that uses life force (the energy that flows through all living things) to help address physical, mental and emotional imbalances.

Pranic Healing and Reiki are both forms of energy healing, however, the techniques and teachings are quite different. We encourage you to undertake your own research if you’d like to know more about the differences between Pranic Healing and Reiki. This link is a good place to start.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. We recommend loose clothing and flat shoes and rug up if it’s cold! Your session with Chiu Chi will be outside in our garden courtyard and although it’s enclosed and undercover, it can be a little cool.

View Answer

How many sessions will I need to feel the full benefit?

It varies depending on you, your state of wellbeing and what you would like to achieve from the sessions. Some people find one session is enough, others require more. We recommend you ask this question during your initial consult with Chiu Chi.

View Answer

What is the cost? Is there a concession for students / seniors?

One-on-one sessions with Chiu Chi are valued at $85 for your initial appointment and then $65 for sessions thereafter. While there is no set concession rate for students or seniors, from time-to-time Chiu Chi will offer a healing at a reduced cost depending on the situation. This is assessed on an individual basis, and at his discretion.

Can I claim anything back from my private health fund?

Please confirm this by checking with your private health insurer. It is our understanding that Pranic Healing services and treatments are not as yet officially recognised by most Australian private health insurers as a complementary or alternative therapy. Again, please confirm this by calling your private health fund.
