Forgiveness - the practice of giving.

Oct 24, 2024

Forgiveness, when broken down, is formed by two key words ‘for’ and ‘give’. When we are for-giving, we give - to others and we give to ourselves.

Sometimes this gift can be wrapped in an apology, with a genuine offering of “I am sorry."

Sometimes, this gift is an unwrapping of the heart, where words are replaced by an invitation to return, a warm hug, or simply a knowing that love is present.

And perhaps the biggest gift of all is that which does not need to be received - the gift of acceptance, and it comes in two parts that you must piece together.

The first involves taking ownership of the situation and understand that you are an incredibly powerful creator who has played an active role in co-creating this experience.

The second piece involves the work of the heart. It’s energetically shifting into your heart space, feeling unconditional, overflowing love and compassion for that person or situation, and offering it purely, and unconditionally.

When we bring these two pieces together, we for-give. And as we give, we receive.

May we all be for-giving, with ourselves and others.
